Once smartphones learned to scan the square code without any extra software, it got a second life.

Indeed, to scan a QR code you just open the Camera app on any modern smartphone and point it at the code. The phone itself offers to open the link — or, say, add a new contact if it's a contact code. Very handy; we recommend using it.

You can put a QR code anywhere: on paper invoices, on t-shirts and mugs, cars and a stairwell wall, on asphalt. You could even get a tattoo 🙂
